IMO –
the International Maritime Organization – is the United Nations specialized agency with responsibility for the safety and security of shipping and the prevention of marine and atmospheric pollution by ships. IMO's work supports the UN sustainable development goals.
As part of IMO’s ongoing work to train future maritime and legal experts, students from the IMO International Maritime Law Institute (IMLI) in Malta have received training on maritime transport policy making during a seminar (28-30 November).
A needs assessment mission carried out in Guinea will assist the Member State in the preparatory stages of setting up a maritime single window system in the Port of Conakry.
International delegates attending the 4th IMO-UNEP-Norway Innovation Forum (24-25 October) have outlined a set of recommendations to support developing countries in their journey to net zero shipping.
